Frequently Asked Questions

Think of us as your Colorado backcountry concierge.

We can drop machines in the Buena Vista and San Isabel National Forest — Fourmile and Browns Canyon. St. Elmo, Tincup, Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel, Aspen Loop, and Mt. Princeton are permanently off-limits, delivered or self-towed.

We offer a few vehicles available to rent as tow vehicles.

We offer guided UTV/side-by-side tours out of Buena Vista.

Trailer, helmet, and fuel are included with every rental. Bring a backpack with food, water, sunscreen, and dress for the backcountry — an extra set of gloves and goggles helps too.

What to Expect

Before heading into the Colorado backcountry, a few things to know:

For do-it-yourself rentals, you're on your own from the moment you sign the paperwork.

Before leaving the shop, we review the safety guidelines for your rental.

We walk you through the paperwork and show you how to properly load equipment onto the trailers.

For trailering, you'll need a 2″ hitch ball on your vehicle. We keep a few spares in the shop, but don't depend on them being available.

Once paperwork is signed and safety checks are done, you're off on your adventure.

You're responsible for your actions and required to follow all local, state, and federal laws.

Colorado has 11 National Forests to explore — each with its own rules for backcountry travel.

Follow all trail signs, rules, and regulations. Breaking forest service laws directly threatens motor vehicle access for everyone, and will be reported to the ranger districts.

Carry a topographic map and follow LNT (Leave No Trace) principles — pack out your trash, no glass on trails or rivers, leave wildlife alone.
